YSG's Approach
Our fundamental aim has always been to enable sailors and boat people to enjoy yacht ownership with peace of mind. Central to our vision is the client's interest. The ethics of a fair purchase are at the forefront of our minds, and safety is paramount.
We are 2 partners, both certified marine surveyors, and behind us we have a wealth of technical, engineering, marine and sailing experience and qualifications, as well as strong business acumen. As sailors ourselves, we recognize only too well the value of having a reliable, impartial and knowledgeable second party to depend upon when gaining trust in your boat.
While we operate internationally, we have a special interest in Turkey where we are based. The yacht market here is huge and exciting, but the protection for boat owners has, until now, been limited; and realising confidence as an investor and owner is of course essential. Our mission as expert marine surveyors, is to act professionally in your interests, carrying out an efficient job and at reasonable rates. We also aim to contribute to making Turkey and the Eastern Mediterranean a safe and easy place to buy, own and keep a boat.
The bottom line of YSG is looking after the client's interest by accurately assessing the condition of the yacht. This gives the client reliable information about the yacht allowing them to make it safe and also to ensure it is a worthwhile investment.
Ali Dincer
Co-Founder, Yacht Surveyor
Ali Dincer is accredited with certification as a Marine Surveyor by IIMS (International Institute of Marine Surveyors) with a diploma as a Yacht & Small Craft Surveyor. He has been working as an independent surveyor since 2013. He has surveyed a variety of vessels, GRP, wood and steel. He has further experience as a boat owner from dinghies to sailing boats and has been involved in maintenance, repair and refit projects of GRP and wooden boats.
Ali's background is as board member and shareholder of Industrial Production companies operating in International markets, specifically Europe and Asia. With his multi lingual skills, international education and background in commerce, as well as with his love of sailing, Ali brings YSG to the forefront of the professional marine survey industry in Turkey.

Joe Rowles
Co-Founder, Yacht Surveyor
Joe Rowles is an internationally accredited independent marine surveyor based in Turkey and operating worldwide. Joe carries out all types of marine survey and is authorised to carry out MCA (Maritime and Coastguard agency) coding for UK registered Small Commercial Vessels. Joe is recognised by the following Certifying Authorities for the MCA: IIMS (International Institute of Marine Surveyors), YDSA (Yacht Brokers, Designers & Surveyors Association) and the RYA (Royal Yachting Association).
Joe comes from a practical engineering background. In the early 1990's he worked as a Helicopter technician, before moving to the marine industry in 1993. After working as a marine mechanic and carrying out refit and repair work on both sail and power yachts, Joe started Marine Surveying in 2001 and attained a diploma in Yacht and Small Craft Surveying where he specialised in the surveying of rigs, engines and machinery and systems. A keen sailor, Joe has sailed throughout the Mediterranean, across the Atlantic, in the Baltic, North Sea and the Solent.
Yacht Project Management
Acting as project managers Joe and Ali offer consultancy and technical advice on new construction and yacht refit projects. The YSG team has operational experience on various types of marine vessels, construction methods, materials and first-hand experience of boat yards and repair facilities within the Eastern Mediterranean.
