Damage Survey
Damage Surveys are usually instructed by insurance companies to review the extent of any damage resulting from an accident. Reports cover recommended repairs, and the probable cause of the damage.

# NDT - such as ultrasound, thermal imaging and moisture readings are used to help in assessing the condition of materials without any damage to the material or its coatings.
Insurance & Valuation
# This survey looks at the structural integrity and general safety of the vessel and its equipment. Valuation estimates the fair market price.
Appraisal
# Establishing the overall condition of the vessel, this type of survey involves a visual inspection and focuses on identifying any major defects.

Steps In Marine Survey Procedure with YSG

1. Client Enquiry

Client contacts YSG enquiring about survey types, or to evaluate the condition of a currently owned boat.

4. Quote from YSG

YSG provides client with a quote for agreed survey services.

7. Delivery of Report

Within 10 days following the inspection or sooner if previously arranged YSG delivers survey report to client via email.

2. Brief from Client

Client provides YSG with as detailed a brief as possible about expectations of survey and plans for the vessel, via email.

5. Contract & Payment

YSG and Client sign and exchange contract for services, and payment is made once the survey date has been fixed.

8. Report feedback

Following receipt of the survey report YSG are available to discuss & clarify issues raised in the survey result.

3. Survey Agreement

YSG and client agree on scope of survey, stating its extent and purpose of survey.

6. Survey Undertaken

YSG surveyor visits the vessel and carries out the agreed survey.

How To Prepare Your Yacht For Survey

For an efficient examination of the yacht, the surveyor needs adequate access to all inspection areas. Pre-survey preparation of the yacht by the yacht owner/ or person responsible will significantly enhance the quality of the survey and will save time and additional expenses.

Joe Rowles: British; qualified, Internationally accredited independent marine surveyor authorised to carry out MCA coding inspections for vessels under 24m load line length through the following; certifying authorities: IIMS, YDSA and RYA (Royal Yachting Association). Background in Engineering.

Ali Dincer: Turkish; Independent certified Marine Surveyor by IIMS (International Institute of Marine Surveyors) Diploma as a Yacht & Small Craft Surveyor. RYA inspector and accredited expert witness for Turkish Courts.
